Church of Christ campus ministry (STU Chapter) has donated some relief items worth Gh 2,500.00 cedis to the University Clinic of Sunyani Technical.
The donation exercise which took place Today, April 15 saw the donation of 2000 hand gloves, 100 bottles of hand sanitizers, 100 pieces of nose mask and some other items.
Speaking in an interview with www.stunewsroom.com at the donation, Mr. Drah Emmanuel the head of the donation team, thanked the goodwill of his other church members in fulfillment of their corporate social responsibility and commitment towards combating the spread and subsequent eradication of the Covid- 19 in the country at large.
‘’It’s all from the goodwill our church leaders who believes in helping society. We are grateful to ourselves for these kind gestures. We believes in helping the community to grow so we can all grow together. So, we have taken it upon ourselves to help eradicate the spread of Covid- 19.’’
“As children of Christ, we understand the importance of these PPEs to protect the fronline workers and the university community, our efforts in this regard is unwavering” He added.
In his final words, Mr. Drah touched on the effect the COVID-19 has had on education in the country and why students need to adhere to the guidelines and orders from the government in fighting the virus.
Speaking at the donation, Mr. Kofi kyeremeh head of the clinic stated categorically that;
“Confirmed cases in the country kept surging with the government engineering pragmatically brutal but necessarily steps of locking down some parts of the country in efforts to curb nationwide spread of the virus.
“This pandemic may be with us for some time and this is the time to listen to our health professional and security men.
“So, you need to practice some baseline things as Students, like good personal hygiene, adopting new social norms and discouraging large gatherings, and generally, maintaining some physical distance from one another. And we can do more in other areas, For example, at religious gatherings.”

He added that, “We are all in this together. We must put politics aside, stop the partisanship, and unify together as one nation and one family. As history has proven time and time again, that we always rise to the challenge and overcome adversity.
“You would agree with me, we live in a moments of great crisis and while we have faced such challenges before, this one is different. We are facing a challenge which is potentially much bigger than expected and could be disastrous if not properly handled.”
